Case 1A 91-year old patient presents with a 1.8-cm nodular and infiltrative basal cell carcinoma (BCC) on the helix of the right ear (figure 1A). The tumour is removed using micrographic surgery, resulting in a 2.2-cm wide chondrocutaneous defect. To reconstruct the defect, a chondrocutaneous advancement flap is performed (figure 1B).
